it's reminiscent of "Elizabeth" (if you've seen it). the gist of the story is gaga has been crowned Queen amidst a time of public unrest. while initially popular, her popularity has fallen amongst the proletariat. in order to ease tension with her people, she's re-evaluating her life and what it means to be a "queen" and what she needs to gain in order to wrest back the trust of the civilians. things go awry once her castle is stormed by rebels and she's whisked off in a carriage, which is set on fire and overturned. in the final part of the song (the last two minutes), Gaga (having survived the attack) is meandering under the night sky (her crown, which is still on, starts to emit sparks) slowly until she finally collapses.
this is only the backbone of the story. once you add in the "meat" (fashion, flashbacks and assorted theatrics), it's the most beautiful thing i''ve ever envisioned.
