I'm a bit scare of front-loaded sales ..
Now the airplay isn't big enough for a hot 100 top 10 ...
When the airplay is sufficient, sales will be on the down trend ...
With an amazing video, it truly deserves another top 10 !!!

Hey y'all. I wanted to **** the mood a bit. This thread is dying again so.. why not?
This is from PJ forum, I think he has some good points so I wanted to share it with you guys.
Here. http://www.popjustice.com/forum/inde...807#msg1741807

I'm so sorry for what is about to follow.
I've been thinking about this for some time, perhaps before the release of Born This Way, but its always been in the back of my mind until the "Yoü And I" video brought it all rushing back to the forefront. Things have settled down enough in the campaign for me not to be constantly defensive without really thinking, and some time away from her music also helped clarify how I feel. This all sounds very ominous and very Disillusionment Of RJF, but it's quite simple really. I don't like where any of this is going. At all.
Nothing in particular has sparked this, but I suppose the recent video release was "the final straw" as it were. Everything after "Bad Romance" has reminded me of the mad rush when you realise you've only got ten minutes left in an exam, so you just scribble down anything and everything you think will get you marks. Her videos have become these seven minute motorway pile ups; idea after idea crashing into each other with no sense or meaning ("Telephone" and "Judas" get a slight pass on this; the former is meaningless anyway, and the latter has a sole well-executed premise.). Then you have "The Edge Of Glory" where, if you forgive the exam analogy again, it's like she's ran out of time and realised she's written nothing when really, it was the easiest question of all. It's telling that her most "simplistic" song since this creative merry-go-round began has also been her worst executed. And even if you execuse the empty, rushed video, it still sounds like it was going to be a cluster**** before all that drama kicked off. The opening of the video for "Born This Way" seemed to promise a concept, a narrative, and a manifesto for the album campaign, but now it lies forgotten next to the facial prosthetics, black fringe, and teal wig, and it's frustrating me. I feel like all she does is build skeletons of great ideas before hammering them into dust within seconds and starting all over again. At the same time though, I sometimes think that she complicates, scrutinises and eventually shreds what was initially a rather simple idea by overthinking it (Like a Popjustice user, ironically.). I feel like the last proper concept she brought to fruition was The Fame Monster, where she clearly transitioned into something different, and gave it a rather definitive ending at this year's Grammys. Although it's possible I'm looking at it through rose-tinted glasses.
As an extention of that, I think she's moved away from what we all originally loved her for in the first place. Back in 2009, she seemed to have this innate knowledge of what pop music was about, and executed it with shameless aplomb. Fitting costume changes into a forty-five minute festival set, producing a re-release of substance, "Pop music will never be low brow.", and all the other stuff that communicated just how much she ****ing loved pop music. I still think she ****ing loves pop music, but now I see it in mere flashes of her existence rather than in her simply being. Now, instead of ****ing loving pop music, she loves her ****ing fans. I'm starting to feel like the more she attempts to empower her fans, the more she disempowers and alienates herself. It's as if she's sacrificing her potency as a popstar to give someone who is terrorised by bullies a bit of a boost. This sounds terribly dramatic and perhaps a little cruel, I know, but I get the sinking feeling that everything (The music, the videos, the fame, etc.) comes secondary to this cause she has taken upon herself, which leads me into the alienation bit. I'm not a fan of Lady GaGa because I'm a self-harmer or a cross-dresser, or whatever, and I don't want to feel that I need to fall under this kind of label to be considered a fan. I don't want a popstar of whom I am fan to refer to herself as my "mommy" in a radio interview. I'm not going to go see her on tour so she can set me free from my insecurities, I'm going because she has a massive stack of excellent pop songs which she shall perform brilliantly. She's said countless times that the people who come to concert range wildly in age and everything else, so I find her constant tunnel-vision and willful ignorance of a large part of her fanbase to be disheartening, possibly dangerous in the long term and yet again, frustrating. You're a popstar, love. Not a ****ing therapist.
I genuinely think these problems stem from her being too self-aware. When she talks about how she doesn't understand the scale of her own fame or impact, I think she's a ****ing liar. She's far too savvy to not understand it; self-proclaimed student of fame and pop culture. She spoke about the pressure she felt writing Born This Way, knowing the eyes of the world were on her. She's repeatedly spoke about the message she wants to send out, and her responsibility to broadcast said message from her position and with her profile. Hell, her self-awareness was at its most evident in the whole release of "Judas", a song that sounds more like an echo of past hits, or something her label would force her to record after a colossal **** up, rather than the cultural baptism she deigned it to be. I think all this self-inflicted pressure to make a cultural impact, whether it be through her music, her videos, her relationship with the public and her fans, is absolutely crippling her. I think she spends too much time focusing on the result, the perception, and the reaction, rather than the quality of the product and its creation. In short, for all her preaching, her behaviour suggests that she deeply cares how she is perceived, and what people think of her. We then venture into territory about her psyche and her state of mind that I am simply too ill-equipped to handle with any accuracy, so we'll leave that particular theory hanging.
This whole thing reads as a hideously pretentious essay summarising all the points I've previously rolled my eyes at: "I want Party GaGa back!", "Ugh, little monsters blah blah blah.", "Her videos mean nothing!", and I want to say that this is not what I meant it to be at all. It also reads as an obituary for my fandom of her, which again, it is not. I ****ing love Lady GaGa. I think she's the most interesting popstar to emerge in this world in the last ten years, perhaps more if I were to actually think about it. I think that when it comes to the music, she's the most talented popstar we have. I cannot say it enough: I love Lady GaGa. But she's losing me.
Like I said before, I can't help but feel everything is becoming secondary to some kind of cause or statement. I adore Born This Way and I've always said that no matter what else, the music stands above all the other ********, but I can feel all this crap I've said above slipping into the music: the title track, the patronising, hideous "Hair", and soundtrack to Disney rebellion "Bad Kids". It all is rather harmless out of the context of her as a popstar, but that in itself is terrible, don't you think? I don't want to ever have to separate Lady GaGa from her own music to enjoy it, but if fanservice and the crusade she's on gets any worse, I might just have to. Along with the many, many others who will also find her unbearable, and where would that leave her?
I'll end on this: Like I've always said, I don't think anything she's doing is particularly wrong. There is, of course, nothing wrong with passionately encouraging people to be themselves. There is nothing wrong with injecting some meaning and reason for discussion into your art, and making people think about something that is wrongfully thought to be banal. There is nothing wrong with realising your place and power in society, and being aware of the effect of your every action and word, but...
Oh, ****. I don't even know where I'm going with this now. Basically, everything in moderation please, GaGa! When you fell to your knees in despair in your new video at the back of ice cream truck that said "Follow The Crowd", I wanted to join you, and not for the reasons you wish. Don't ever make me feel like that again!
Thus ends this sprawling embarrassment, and easily my longest ever post on Popjustice. ****ing hell.
