Eh... I just wonder. If pop radio is so willing to let "Applause" slip through the cracks like they have been (even "Marry The Night" reached 14 on Top 40, while this isn't even cracking the top 15 at the moment), then how willing will they be to play a second single from an artist with two consecutive radio bombs?

I wouldn't jump the gun just yet. It wouldn't be a good idea to throw anything out now when "Applause" hasn't even been out for a month yet.

She's not the only one this has happened to and it's really not a special case for her at all either. Madonna, Britney, and Rihanna. Just because they're consecutive means nothing. You can have 4 consecutive hits and have your last single bomb.

My point still stands. Plenty stations will still be sticking to "Applause" even while the second single is the one being promoted if she goes ahead and drops it now. The situation will be hella confusing and neither song would benefit from that.

The situation with Judas was different because every station was looking for an excuse to not play it, so they went with the promo single as soon as it came out.
