So to say Bernie wouldn't have won because there are more racists than ever and he's too liberal clearly doesn't work. The problem is within the democratic party. Hillary underperformed with young and rural whites, 2 demographics Bernie was stronger on. Minority voters did not decide this election and they wouldn't have for Bernie either.
Bernie had the millennial white vote. Doubt rural whites would have picked him over Trump in a general election tbh. He'd have to focus on minorities and women for sure. Can't win without those.

Obama has been a let down for me. He's been so vanilla with regards to his policy and his leadership. I've always felt like he bowed down to the establishment and his donors.
He's now in a situation where he has literally nothing to hand over because when Trump gets a hold of it, it's going to all go down the drain. He should literally **** his donors and everyone for the last 2 months. He needs to do as many of the progressive things he had promised. He's a large reason why Trump won. He promised change, and there wasn't any.
