Um, not really. Just because I love Mariah doesn't mean I have anything against Nicki. I even bought both of her albums and enjoy her music for the most part. I've always looked forward to seeing her, but I'll admit that I did have my doubts about her when she first signed on.

Oh ok because some Barbs (and Lambs) can get very defensive at times when it comes to Idol. It would be nice if all of us got along and just look at the feud as entertainment. I would prefer if Nicki and Mariah did get along better, and hopefully we'll see that in the future, but it's nothing too serious for people to be fighting over.
I had doubts about whether she was experienced enough to critique the contestants but it's clear now that she does which is impressive for the short amount of time she's been in the business.

Which is true but in terms of being successful in the industry, she is considered a newcomer in comparison to Keith, Mariah and Randy so I guess that's why I, along with anyone else who may have questioned her ability to judge, besides people who automatically wouldn't give her a chance because of their dislike for her, didn't think she would be that good.

I don't know why I said success. I meant to say having experience. Most people probably thought if she's not of "legend" status who is well-respected and has spent a long period of time in the business, then how can she be a good judge. In other words, that it's too early in her career for her to be doing something like Idol.

i dont think experience in the music biz ties into being a good judge, experience in music biz dosent give u knowledge on what a good distinctive voice is. She is also good on telling people how to better their craft, which does kinda tie into experience because you have to better your craft each album, but thats about it.

More importantly, American Idol searches for the next superstar, someone who has what it takes to get to the next level in the music industry.
And who better than Nicki? Who in such a short period of time, has established herself enough to earn a judging position in this show, without taking into consideration all of her success in multiple entertaintment areas.
Obviously Nicki can't reach a Mariah range, but she surely knows what it takes to have success in the music industry, and that's exactly what American Idol is looking for. Look at it this way, Nicki has these attributes, and Mariah the voice; teamed-up together, they can really craft the next American Idol.

Personally, I think it's a lot more than that because someone can have a distinctive voice and not have the other qualities needed to be in the music business. Nicki's experience helps a lot on her ability to judge. She has suffered a lot of backlash in the past for different things so that has helped her to develop even thicker skin. Because of that, she knows that she has to be completely honest with the contestants whether it is in a good or bad way because if they want to be in the business they're gonna have to learn and expect to be constantly judged by everyone. Sometimes being able to handle criticism and using it to better yourself is more important than how talented you are.

I agree. That's why I need those two to get along because with their knowledge together, they can help someone become really huge.

PREACH!! yes it is very smart for mariah and Nicki to team up to pick out the next superstar, someone who has the entertainment value, but who also has a good range and a power house voice.

American Idol opening it was genius, i'm here for her doing another season and getting that guap, i just wonder how she's going to manage the USA tour in there i have yet to see her live
|
That's why I'm thinking she will have to put an album out in the summer if she does a second season.
That's the only way she can manage a tour for the Pink Print.

she will probably finish her tour in the summer for the US, and have a mobile studio so she can tour and record an album.
if nicki want to do another season of AI she can do it if she does the above cause she can start touring in march when AI is done and finish in Augest then do AI in september, drop album in november like she did with TRU

And the winner is and hollister better show them girls how to converse like adults.
True...I think you meants may not March.
For some reason I'm not so against the idea of riding the wave of ai and st least releasing summer
single. November is great but looking back at mariah, madonna and even pink and Katy now their Sept/Oct releases give them longevity...pink about to clear 1m before grammys she"ll probably will be close to 1.5-1.7m by her last single. I think a summer smash will serve nicki well.
Here for a late may single.
