Yeah, that thread is really tragic. ATRL (well most of the gays and straights actually) are really biphobic and it's so annoying. Just let them live their live

Most non-bisexual people are biphobic, but the gays seem to be a lot more hostile about it and always get super defensive. Saying things like, "if you date a woman you're closeted, if you date a man you're just gay".

It's always been clear to me that Shane wasn't 100% straight, I watched his YT videos from... IDK when, probably like 2008/2009 (?) on and off up until maybe 2012/2013 (when I found ATRL and that kinda took up all of my free time), so I'm glad that he finally found it in him to publicly admit his feelings. But his relationship with Lisa is definitely real and I'm not surprised at all that he identifies as bi rather than gay. He's never given me 100% in denial closet case teas (like some YouTubers like Joey Graceffa and that Ricky Dillon), most closeted gays wouldn't dress up as a woman every other week for fun.

But yeah, a bunch of bad apples make gays seem like the most prejudiced, selfish and bigoted when it comes to anything non-gay. When it comes to gay rights they're ever the advocate, but for most other minorities, if it doesn't affect them, they either don't care, or have reasons for why they're oppressed. Bisexuality definitely seems to be a major trigger for a lot of gays. That EdgeOfAddiction character in the thread saying bisexuals are "greedy". It has nothing to do with quantity.

I remember watching Shane's video with Willam and he said he was straight, and I find it weird that he is coming out now considering how much he has to do with other gay youtubers, but good for him I guess. I think the thing is, is that most gay people use being bi as a stepping stone, so thats why they are so quick to jump to that conclusion, especially with guys (a girl can say she is bisexual and nobody bats an eye).

Yeah, it's mainly with guys. If you're a guy, you're gay, but if you're a girl, you're doing it for attention.

The thing to remember is that while "most gay people using being bi as a stepping stone", it's inaccurate to say that most people who identify as bisexual are just using it as a stepping stone to fully coming out as gay. They're not interchangeable. It's the gays who try to make it "easier" on themselves (??? I don't see how considering bisexuals get more irrational hate than gays, always have, always will) that make it harder for the legit bisexuals to be accepted.

Like, I'm pretty sure if you're worried about your parents/friends/everyone not accepting you for being gay, they're not gonna accept you for being bi either. It's such a stupid thing some gay people do. Straight women don't want to be with bi guys because they think they'll cheat on them / have a secret gay life (most straight men wouldn't care about bi women, they'd think it's hot) and gays don't want to be with someone closeted / will leave them to settle down with a woman. At least that's the stereotypes.

I think if you are a young teenager, being 'bi-sexual' in a lot places is definitely more accepted amongst straight young people but yes its true 'bi-sexuality' cops a lot of slack from the rest of the LGBT community.
