Everyone's meltdowns were so annoying though, I will never get why everyone was so up in arms about her not performing at the VMA's. Sure GFY had the potential to be her most successful single and the VMA's would given it a good push, but I'd rather her have an album campaign than focusing heavily on singles. I mean look at C&GI she promoted that so much and hyped it up and was everywhere! She had tons of things planned for it, but nothing planned for Stars Dance and the album sales were the lowest of her peers compared to DEMI and Bangerz.
She wants to promote the album and in order for people to take her seriously as a pop star that's exactly what she needs to do.

Very true! I'd love it if Selena had a similar album/singles/era campaign like Taylor does but obviously it'd be at a smaller scale since Taylor is massive now. It'd be awesome if we have at least 4-6 singles, tons of high profile interviews etc. It'd be a great way to raise her star power for the next album too.
R1 din't really have a policy regarding playlisting and how long. Selena did really well on their playlist but once you get removed from the Alist you get removed entirely. Whether they'll still play the song a lot is up to R1
