"Started from the Bottom" will not be life-threatening. It'll probably float to #1 for a few days and then fall like most Drake/YM singles. "Thrift Shop" is just to strong right now just to fall off hard. It has a ton of momentum. It's not rising too fast. It's been out for months.
I like the song and i'm not denying it's impact.
However, for you to proclaim in February it will be the biggest song of the year when a vast number of artists have still to even prep their era's is just bizarre. I mean, y'all WERE the same ones proclaiming "SkyFall" would end everyone's careers etc. etc.
It's not burning out anytime soon. It's breaking streaming records left and right, and will continue to do so, I'm sure. I would not be surprised if it went on to become the first 2M-streamer on On Demand Songs.
Who is going to be there to stop TS from getting the YE#1? None of the pop girls really have the presence to overcome it. Katy could do it if TS's reign got cut short and went on to become a multi-week summer smash, but that's about it...
