People just underestimated how many conservative people actually live in USA.
Also H.Clinton's campaign was so so so bad. No pandering through mostly liberal media and using celebrities was going to bring you the votes of conservative people.
She has been in politics for a very long time and people never liked her and she was never really consistent with what she said.
What she should have done is to focus on the states like Florida, Ohio, Maine, Iowa, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and show some love and care there. She lost mainly because of these states.
I was walking to the train station this morning and this group of construction workers jumping up and down and yelling "WE DID IT! WE DID IT!"
My entire train car (when I arrived) was so freaking depressed 7 people incl. myself were crying. We all just feel so defeated.
same i heard the janitors in the hallway of my dorm whooping it up that Trump won
i can't believe the uneducated trash that scrapes white girls vomit off the hallways of our dorm actually decided my future for the next half decade
I can't believe this is happening. As someone who despises both, and will forever be a Bernie supporter, it was obvious who was the lessor of two evils. My heart sank last night as the map kept turning red. Our country just took 1000 steps backwards.

she literally didn't even go to wisconsin after she got the nomination
Guys can you explain to me how Hillary Clinton lost even if she had the popular vote? I think I got some vague idea but I want to know better
basically, for each state (with 2 exceptions), it's a winner-take-all thing. so even if trump wins, say, florida by a small margin he gets all its votes

Electoral votes. Each state carries a certain amount of electoral votes and the larger it's population the larger electoral college votes it has. This way a president can win a majority of states, and thus a majority of votes but if the states he/she won have fewer electoral college votes than those of larger states they can still lose.

In simple terms... you get a certain number of points for each state or territory that you win; while Hillary won more votes of overall Americans, her opponent won more state points. A lot of people believe that the electoral college system isn't fair, and I vehemently agree with these sentiments now.
