She really flipped Sex Dreams from an R&B song into a dancepop one. Not everyone is going to enjoy that change obviously, but clearly she wanted it to be more pop / radio playable. At that point in her head she was going to have a clean era with several radio hits instead of the MESS that was really approaching.

I think what I like about the original bridge is that it has that overheated fantasy quality to it. I feel like it makes the song feel different and less slick than the final version, though the final bridge is better in a technical way.
It's unfortunate if true that she intentionally made it more pop because radio was never going to give the song a chance anyway if that terrible censored version is anything to go by.
