My guess is it was first meant for a Calvin/ Taylor collab but she pulled out for some reason and they got Rihanna. They probably did that thing of leaving someone else's vocals on the song, lots of pop songs have that.
How are you guys not hearing Taylor's vocals in the snippet? They're so prevalent, especially in the "ooooh" part (0:27-0:30). Rih's natural tone is not that light... Then again, vocal distortion is a thing but still, Taylor definitely has some background vocals in the song.

Looks like Rhat is going back to her generic club roots. It's what she does best anyway, she should focus on that instead of trying to be an artist. The world would love here more. No shade, just truth, I'm sure the Navy agrees.
