Like Blue before him, Cheren makes the transition from rival to Gym Leader of Aspertia City in the gap from BW to B2W2. As a rival Cheren was ok, not nearly as annoying as Bianca and a decent opponent from time-to-time. As a leader...he's not very good. He stole Roxanne's job, Lenora's badge (fittingly called basic) and the triplet's team. He's not a challenge at all, but he does act as a mentor to you throughout your journey in B2W2. Plus he's kinda cute.
Staryu finds him "annoying" and HausofNiko liked the concept of his transition to a leader but thought he was "reductive", ouch... tough crowd. Hugamari was stanning for anything related to normal-type, as usual.

He's cute. One of the tolerable 5th gen leaders, and unsurprisingly from BW2 not the original BW.
