20. Aphex Twin - "minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix]"
This is Aphex Twin's most accessible and catchy release since Windowlicker.
19. Giant Claw - "Dark Web 003"
This is one of my favorite plunderphonics/sample based songs of the year. The same rhythm is there almost throughout the whole song but it's really just changing timbre over and over.
18. Tobacco - "Eruption (Gonnna Get My Hair Cut At The End of Summer)"
I hear a TINY bit of Hip-Hop influence, and it's definitely one of the more rhythmic songs on Tobacco's album. Pretty catchy "noise" influenced music.
17. Ariel Pink - "Black Ballerina"
A completely mind-numbingingly amazing production, with completely RIDICULOUS lyrics... and some quote/clip from a movie or maybe it's not a movie, but it's just a ****ing strange quote about a guy being introduced to a stripper by a pirate.
16. Kitty Pryde - "M0rgan Stop"
Her rapping is similar to her earlier stuff, but this is one of the most sonically pleasing beats she's ever used.
Oh grrrrl, this is totally lead single material. I feel like this is the only track on the album that bears resemblance to Daft Punk's Disco/House of the early 2000's, but he does it better anyway so who cares? It has this sheen to it that makes me feel super bougie when listening to it.
14. Cibo Matto - "Deja Vu"
This is probably their most organic sounding song, yet it's still full of trip-hop influences. Also the rap in the bridge is ****ing amazing. Also there's another one right after that's just as good in case you wanted more. The horns are a very nice tough too.
13. Kimbra - "90s Music"
This is by FAR Kimbra's weirdest song. Unintuitive, silly, and completely nonsensical. She said it was a joke song, and honestly it's easy to tell. But that's not saying the song isn't next level!
12. Nicki Minaj - "Anaconda"
The slower flow she used kinda took me for a surprise the first time I heard the demo, but once the real version WITH the AMAZING rant at the end came out I couldn't resist this. It's easily the best novelty hit of the year. When this song comes on at the club I go crazy.
This perfect chemistry between AG and Hannah Diamond is why this is probably my favorite PC Music track this year... Her rap/spoken part is just ridiculous, and the vocal edits on the verses are more or less fascinating.
part of me loves anaconda and then another small part of me just doesn't want to like it for some reason. idk, it's a massive bop in all honesty, and she looks incredible in the gym scene in the video
From the sets I've missed... I love Lemonade and Fancy!
Anaconda wow, so high! but I just love that song, is crazy! one of my biggest guilty pleasures of 2014
90s Music is good... weird, but good! There's something off about it, though. Anaconda too But I think we can all connect the dots there. Minipops is ****ing amazing, was #65 on my c.d. and I have one more Syro song waiting
