I imagine the setlist is the way it is because she's not rehearsed much ARTPOP choreography yet and she fancied including some of her fave tracks she'll likely not perform again (Y&I, BJ†AF, Monster).
Plus, it kinda seems like she wanted a hybrid of TFB, TMB, BTWB and artRAVE so took bits from each (PF acoustic + JD > Monster, BR > BJ†AF, BTW, Y&I > Applause, G.U.Y, SD, Dope)
Hopefully there's a reason why the set is short, though. Seems unlike her to do less.
The ticket cost me $66 and change, which on par (but slightly above what I've paid before at concerts at Roseland that have had longer sets). I'm factoring in work, travel time, waiting in line, among other things. That's a lot of effort on my part to come see her play for about an hour or so.
There's no evidence that she might switch up the songs each night. That is purely fan speculation that has been circulating since last night.
I think she's got the setlist planned out, cause stuff like when she climbed the ladder that was obviously planned and they probably didn't plan a substitute song.
I think she might add or change a song that she does acoustically though, that's the only real change I could imagine.
I was going to go but I knew the show wasn't going to be that long so I preferred to save my money since I knew I wouldn't go to a full length Gaga show. And again, I wonder what made you think she's do a big set.
I wasn't expecting a 2.5 hour show. I did expect a slighty longer setlist with a club/rock show approach where she banged it out hit after hit, medley after medley... returning to her NYC club show roots. Not some glorified, over-hyped mini-concert.
My take on the Roseland Ballroom show, NYC monster reporting here who attended her birthday night.
Gaga put on a great show as usual, showcasing her vocals and ability to play instruments and interact with the crowd at times. I loved when she jumped over the side stage and back, and even wen't up on the ladder. No surprise that I can say she's still one of the best performers out there and her voice was on point.
I was surprised that the set list was as short as it was, and the song choices were a bit disappointing for me as a big fan. My niece thought it was the best show on earth but it was her first time attending too, but I was expecting a lot from it I guess. I thought she could have done without some of the tired out singles like Just Dance and should have added more Born This Way songs ESPECIALLY since she never came to NYC for the Born This Way Ball.
There were some song choices even from ARTPOP that were surprisingly left out that everyone was talking about on the line and were positive she would perform them, like Venus and Swine.
I was waiting there since early in the morning and heard a lot of commotion about what she would play, and virtually none of the fan favorites were played.
I think her song choices were very much decided about what would be the most "New York", which is why she picked Black Jesus and then You & I (for the trillionth time) in which she can replace words in it easily with "Roseland" and "New York". Even so, so many other songs could come to mind too...so why was it so short? I saw Beyonce at Roseland and she did a medley, some old hits, and pretty much the entire 4 album. I was pretty surprised when she said good night. Meh.
Advice to monsters waiting on line:
Be assertive about people cutting you when you're near the front of the line especially. If you camped out, make sure you tell security immediately about people cutting. Yesterday it was terrible, just about twenty people (elitist monsters) kept going straight to the front in groups and being a complete mess, drinking and smoking and throwing up. It was awful and a lot of people weren't vocal enough about it. Marc Monster arrived like an hour before the show and went straight to the front, in which he was met with open arms by everybody he knew. It was pretty unfair. So, heads up and make sure you put these people in their places when you go. Tell security beforehand to assign someone near the front. TRUST me. It's what we told them after a while but it was too late.

I don't know why anyone is OK with this and why Marc feels so entitled to do as he pleases. There's tweets from some of his friends where they actually admit to cutting the line with a complete unapologetic tone. I'm not sure Gaga knows this, or even really gives a ****.
Groteskou, I hope you had a good time despite the discrepancies.

I heard that most of the shows that have been performed at Roseland have been only an hour long, people were speculating that her performances is largely an ode to Roseland itself. There is the ARTrave for the longer set, I can't wait to see the tracklist for it.

Why does every stan base have one of 'those' fans who feel they are so above everyone else and feel that they should be privilaged? Like I have no idea who this 'Mark Monster' guy is that people talk about or why he's so known, but from what I hear he's very well hated for doing the same as this guy.
She looks fine lmao. She's thick but nowhere near fat. I'd rather her be this way before the tour anyway because she's gonna end up burning a lot of weight.
