To bring back all the viewership that Katy lost with her indie video "Uncle"? I mean, that video has only gotten like 65M views. That's way below Katy's standard. Clearly, the gp was not here for a more serious Katy. The outrageous videos of TD all got at least 200m views each (and roar is nearing 400m).
But why are you blaming the Uncle video flop on "serious Katy" and not on the fact that the Uncle song flopped? I mean, doesn't it stand to reason that had the song smashed that the video would have smashed too? I get what you're saying about her label wanting to go the safe, proven rout, but if so, then why the bait (single cover art/ grammy performance) and switch (campy Katy-Patra)?
She should have carried the witch theme she had going on at the Grammys over for the MV. DH had so much potential for an amazing video.
I wasn't expecting anything completely devoid of camp or humor. After all, this is KP we're talking about, but I thought the DH video would've been something a little more along the lines of Cassie's King of Hearts meets Rih's Where Have You Been, but Katy style. This was more along the lines of MJ's Remember the Time meets Last Friday Night.
OMG, that's what this was! DH was Katy' s "Remember the Time."
