If she does less then 400,000 then she is in trouble. After hearing half of the album it lack's the smashes needed to give it longevity or sales in the long run. She needs to get her sales in the first few months if not this era will be very short. And she will cut it and go on tour (the only place she is truly on top)
People always laughed at rihanna and katy but they have HIT'S to sale their albums in the long run so don't need huge opening week number's.
these predictions sound accurate to me, more or less. i had her at 400k in my head.
i have no horse in this race so here are my thoughts
katys sales were also underwhelming, and i said as much in the thread about her sales. I have my own theories about why theres a single/album disconnect there but anyways, this huge drop for gaga is imo, undeniably a problem, and I find it weird that so many monsters are completely brushing over it. I'd be worried if she was my fave. Yes, shes still selling more than Katy for now, but the gap is rapidly closing between album artist, and singles artist, and gaga doesnt even have the singles sales to help keep her afloat if the album sales keep declining. Its alright for the short term/THIS era because she still sold more but if these ladies want to have longevity in the inudstry, and i assume they do, then career trajectory is important too.
katys trajectory is going up and gagas is going down.
clearly something needs to change with gagas music/image/promotion/etc. if we want to see her on top of the the charts 5/6 years from now

We've only heard 3 full studio versions from the album. You are so dramatic sis

Do you really think that Katy can do in 5 years time (when she is 35) this fun pop? I think she has also to adjust her music and then we will see.
She is already steering away from the TD era. I see PRISM as a transitional album, prepping us with mid-tempo/ballads for an acoustic album?
I laugh whenever people say Prism is a "mature/personal" album. How? Because she sings more about love and relationship
Prism is obviously another collection of tracks made for pop radio. It includes all the successful formulas that made her famous. I don't see it as a transition or anything!
