We started Day 1 with sixteen artists, but by the end of it, we were down to fifteen. Day 1 saw the elimination of Tulisa, but this shouldn't be surprising considering she only had one song in the rate.
Other than Tulisa, Nadia Oh took the biggest beating, with five of her six singles knocked out of play. Will Nadia's last track, "Taking Over the Dancefloor", be able to go far, or is it doomed for an early punching on Day 2?
Other girls with multiple singles eliminated today were Charli XCX and Paloma Faith, who each had two singles knocked out. It remains to be seen if Day 2 will prove to be their downfall, or if they will both get past these early hurdles and succeed in this rate.
The artists with one single eliminated today are Cher Lloyd, CocknBullKid, Rita Ora, V V Brown, and Yasmin. While Cher, Cocknbull, Rita, and V V have all been discussed numerous times in the lead up to the rate and are considered polarizing, Yasmin has not really been talked about all that much. Does this mean that Yasmin has the chance to go far in the rate because nobody took the time to sabotage her scores?
And how about the seven ladies who have yet to see the chopping block: Anna Calvi, Delilah, Ellie Goulding, Emeli Sandé, Katy B, Laura Marling, and Rebecca Ferguson are all currently sitting pretty, so will we see any of their songs eliminated tomorrow?
Tune in for Day 2 tomorrow to see all these questions answered!
