Yeah indeed, it could also be her linking it to some parts of her depression during the ARTPOP era, that success won't make you happy or that it can all be over in a flash like you said as well.
Or you could look at it like she would still go crazy playing music with or without the huge crowds cheering her on as she's alone in the desert.
If you consider this, the concept is nicely executed tbh. but I'm sure most people won't think it through like that since it looks really simple and ultimately, that's fine as well.
She obviously isn't going for the huge labyrinthian videos with lots of hints behind it like she used to do.
