A SINGLES artist is someone who sells SINGLES. See Far East Movement, Taio Cruz, ect.
An ALBUM artist is someone who sells ALBUMS. See Susan Boyle, Country acts, ect.

Rihanna is obviously somewhere in between. She has sold roughly 7 million singles to 1 million albums, which in this day and age isn't a bad ratio. Far from ideal, but who besides Gaga sells both singles and albums? Other Stars like Katy are at a 10.5:1 ratio, and for the Fame Monster, (If I did my calculations correctly ) Gaga is at 25:5.5 for her ratio of singles to albums.

Its not bad.Im just saying on a pop star level. When compared to Katy, Gaga, and even Ke$ha Rihannas digital sales seem more mediocare than others. Worldwide is a different story
