this new generation doesn't know what it's like to pay for music. you think it's something the artists are supposed to GIVE to you.
it costs millions of dollars to make an album, create music videos and put out music videos on channels like Vevo and get it burned on CD's and shipped around the world. I'm not even talking about promo yet.

No, it's not about people acting entitled and I'm tired of hearing that weak argument. TIMES have changed. We're in a digital era where you can NOW get music from the click of a button. Technology advances as time progresses and streaming was the ANSWER to online piracy.
Back when the digital era began in the early 2000s, people would just download music for free. Remember Limewire and all of those other programs? NOW we have spotify and youtube that is aligned with Billboard to help not only give artists/songwriters/producers a percentage of plays - but also charting benefits.
What Jay-Z is doing is complete GREED. Greed is a sin and one of the worst ones along with Pride. The fact that he thinks he can cause a coup d'etat in the Music Industry is hilarious and frightening. Instead of just PULLING your music from Spotify if you don't support their prices until they cave, he actually paid $54 million to create his own streaming services. What kind of extreme measure
I'm so disgusted right now and the fact that he got those other artists to change their profile picture and act like THIS is really going to be the future of the music industry... this isn't revolutionary at all. I can understand boycotting Spotify for better percentages - but him launching his own service and at a higher price is a no-go.
