This is the first time I've watched the show this season, but it was funny watching how the show was pushing for Ben whilst the judges seem to be pushing for Fleur. Considering they're all fully aware of how voting is going, I can only guess that they were trying to compensate Fleur's numbers.
It's not really surprising Ben won. He seemed fine (albeit a bit shouty/pitchy) but we've done the whole good looking, sensitive, ballad-singing guy thing time and time again. We get them every year. Whilst Fleur didn't appear to be anywhere near as good as the show wanted me to believe, at least she'd have been different and offered more life to the pop scene.
I don't mind Ben as a winner to be honest. Probably the best male winner after Shayne. Fleur didn't need to win, it just would've been nice if she did.
