It seems like Alternative never really wanted "Bones" as a single and was awaiting for the potential monster of "Read My Mind".
Why? Well when "Bones" went for adds, RMM was right up with it in the top 60.
And now that RMM has an adds date, "Bones" has lost its bullet and peaked at #19 whilst RMM has shot up from #102-64 with a bullet of +84 (close to a month before it's add date)

Sweet Escape is going to blow up in the new year, but I think it will be a steady single, not huge rise then fall like Wind it Up. I think SE will do well on HOT AC etc. I dont expect urban support even with Akon, it's so pop.

Bullets have sunk a bit. Justin now at about +380 and Gwen at +560. I can't even find most of the songs from earlier this year on there and the holiday songs are near the bottom of the top 30 greatest gainers.
Could this be a sign? All I care for is Paula is STILL #8! Sweet!

Things should be returning to normal soon, now that the Christmas and year-end stuff is behind us.

I guess it's too good to be true. JT back up to +370. Now we'll fall into the same continuing loop that we dealt with in Sexyback and My Love. It's sad isn't it?
I know he's hot right now but when will people realize he's just mediocre at best? LOL, if I sound cranky, I slept horribly last night so don't take it out on me.

HELLO! Now everyone is gaining and my girl Paula is back up to almost +500 all of a sudden. And Daughtry denies Bow Wow of top 20 (Take that Shorty Like Mine, ha! )
But Justin almost +1,000 with WGACA, let's hope his 4th single FLOPS! He's not gonna be a great singer down the run because he doesn't know the meaning of flop. Sometimes if you flop, it's a good thing

Paula is back up over 600, woo! That's the exciting part. The boring part? Do I really need to say it?
Justin 'Yawner' Timberlake He may be hot, but he is NOT classy in my opinion. Once a boybander, always a boybander.

USA TODAY'S AIRPLAY RUNDOWN
Beyonce hits a new high
Irreplaceable is now nearly inescapable. The Beyonce ballad collected its largest weekly total audience number yet -- 201.9 million audience impressions (number of plays on stations across the country times the number of people listening at the time of the plays). Only one song has ever topped that number in the four-plus-year history of this Nielsen BDS/Arbitron chart: Mariah Carey's We Belong Together, which topped out at 223.0 million in July '05 and exceeded Beyonce's high in six other weeks.
Well, if a song's going to be omnipresent, it's a bonus when it's as good a song as Irreplaceable. Although by now, I wouldn't be surprised if many of you disagreed.
The rest of the top 10 is pretty static, encompassing hits by Akon & Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, Akon & Eminem, Bow Wow, Ciara, Jim Jones, Fergie, Lloyd and The Fray. More detail follows.
> The briefly annotated top 10:
I say "briefly" because with the Christmas songs and countdowns purged from radio's system this week, the audience levels of most current songs went up, even if they had been trending downward before the holidays. Therefore, cogent analysis of how they're doing becomes fraught with the potential for major inaccuracy. Therefore, I'm keeping my comments short and trying to refrain from sweeping predictions this week (probably unsuccessfully; I have a weakness for sweeping predictions).
1-1 last week Beyonce/Irreplaceable (+12.7% in total audience): I can safely say this song is a phenomenon.
2-2 Akon/I Wanna Love You (+10.3%): Another factor that complicates airplay analysis this week is that there aren't that many new records being actively "worked" to radio yet, so the established hits are monopolizing the airplay. Akon & Snoop won't be gaining 10% next week, I feel secure in saying.
3-3 Justin Timberlake/My Love (+1.4%): The fall starts next week, but will probably hold on to No. 3
4-4 Akon/Smack That (0.8%): Should drop two or three chart notches next week.
5-5 Bow Wow/Shortie Like Mine (+2.4%): Might be overtaken by Ciara or Jim Jones in the race for No. 4 next week.
6-6 Ciara/Promise (+8.5%): Prospects for a chart jump are promising.
7-8 Jim Jones/We Fly High (+12.3%): Hard to judge for sure, but seeminly really kicked in last week.
8-7 Fergie/Fergalicious (+3.5%): Poised to drop.
9-10 Lloyd/You (+17.6%): Looking like a top 5 hit.
10-9 Fray/How to Save a Life (+0.8%): Probably out of the top 10 next week.
> Next week's top 10 contenders:
Two definite contenders: Ludacris' Runaway Love, which jumped from No. 14 to No. 11 with a 21.9% audience uptick, and Nelly Furtado's Say It Right, up 17-13 and +21.5%. Also showing potential: Snoop Dogg's That's That S***, 18-15 and +18.6%, and, possibly, Paula DeAnda's Walk Away, 16-16 and +10.1%.
> Hottest songs on the top 100:
Some of 2007's future biggies may be in this group. Along with Ludacris and Nelly F., big audience gainers include Robin Thicke's Lost Without U (69-46 on the chart, up 26.4%) and Justin Timberlake's What Goes Around (34-25, up 24.4%, and an even better song than My Love, so he's atoning for subjecting us to SexyBack for these many miserable months). Also, Daughtry's It's Not Over continues to blast up the chart, 61-48 and +21.6%; Gwen Stefani's The Sweet Escape is erasing memories of Wind It Up (although it's not all that much of an improvement), jumping 99-73 on a +21.5% audience increase; Pretty Ricky's On the Hotline lives up to its name by vaulting 48-40, +21.1%; and Omarion's Ice Box is melting resistance, 46-36 and +20.2%.
> This week's newcomers to the top 100:
Nice week for American Idols past and present; besides Daughtry's chart exploits, Fantasia's Hood Boy finally parlays its R&B-chart success to a strong debut on the all-format 100 at No. 80, and Kellie Pickler's Red High Heels crosses from the country chart to the big one at 96. Also making their bows: Lil' Boosie's Zoom at 83, Joe Nichols' I'll Wait for You at 94 and Fall Out Boy's This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race at 100.
