I'm guessing I'm late to the party on Shireen's death but I've been thinking about it for ages, it was so hard to watch but I think it was a perfect decision for the show, perfectly shocking and sad and a great way to show how far Stannis would go to become King and please the Lord of Light. All the book readers saying it "destroyed Stannis' character" need to realise he's been burning people alive since S2, and he killed his own brother without blinking an eye and if he thought his entire camp was going to die anyway, why wouldnt he sacrifice his own daughter for a chance to please his god and get into power? Rant over

Edit: Also my prediction for the finale: I think Myrcella will be killed by Oberyn's wife, then the wife will be killed by Jaime. Otherwise what was the point of Cercei's "your children will die" flashback at the beginning of the season?

Ellaria's speech to Jaime really seemed genuine to me, in the end she realised that it wasn't the Lannisters's fault if Oberyn died, she was blinded by vengeful love when she wanted to kill Myrcella.

"Your children will die" meant Joffrey and probably Tommen (i bet he's not gonna last)

The reason why people think it destroyed Stannis's character isn't because they didn't think he was capable of it. In a sample chapter from TWOW, he specifically says that his bannermen should make sure Shireen sits on the throne in the event of his death. There's also the fact that Stannis doesn't have an heir now, so even if he does end up sitting on the Iron Throne, his family will lose it as soon as he dies.

So Maggie's prediction could've just been referring to their golden hair (meaning two). Knowing Martin, though, he probably intentionally used the "golden crowns" with BOTH meanings... I believe that Myrcella will be a queen before her death, so she should outlive Tommen by at least a little while.

Yes.

If Tommen Baratheon dies, next in line is his sister, Myrcella Baratheon.

Aside from Cersei's slow and delicious downfall and Sansa's rape, I thought the majority of of this season was a bit boring, but that's to be expected considering the two books its based on are also a bit boring (especially ADWD)...

BUT

The last two episodes were INSANE!!!! Absolutely loved the battle at Hardhome (and this is coming from someone who thought the battle in S4E9 was quite underwhelming), all those white walkers and wights were truly horrifying, and Jon's epic swordfight and subsequent sad puppy face upon leaving were both amazing. UGH and the final scene, with all the fallen rising... chilling.

Then E9 was just all kinds of brilliant. With all those Stannis/Shireen scenes, I was like "either they're doing a great job at making Stannis more likable or they're about to kill Shireen." AND THEN BOOM. MY GOD. And I didn't think it was OOC at all, we've seen time and time again that Stannis will do anything to win the throne. He's awful.

And then Dany's EPIC moment. She's such a bad bitch. And I just have to lol about people on here complaining about her, because EVERYONE I know in real life LOVES Dany. Honestly, she and Tyrion are going to go down in history as two of the most beloved characters of all time when the show is over.

Can't WAIT for the finale! Hoping they nail Cersei's scene and the ADWD epilogue!

Edit: And I agree that Dorne was a bit underwhelming (and I LOVED everything Dornish in the books), but that's mainly due to Tyene/Obara's HORRIBLE acting and Ellaria's heel-face-turn. I actually like Myrcella and Trystane. I think they're the only couple I actually like aside from Dany/Daario. I SCREAMED WITH RAGE though when Doran announced he was sending Trystane to King's Landing and NOT Nymeria. MESS.

I REALLY hope they include a short scene in the final episode where Doran explains to Ellaria and/or The Sand Snakes about his plan to infiltrate the Lannisters and get in a position for revenge . Everybody thinks the Dorne plot has been useless, and if they don't include that, then it will have been. But the Dorne plot also appeared useless in AFFC until that scene, so hopefully that's what D&D have been trying to accomplish this whole time.

Anyways, it just hit me how excited I am for next episode. This may be the most packed episode EVER!

-Jon getting stabbed by The Night's Watch
-Cersei's walk
-Arya killing Meryn
-Dany arriving at the Khalasar
-Varys showing up and killing Kevan/Pycelle
-Presumably something that hasn't happened in the books with Sansa and Brienne

Makes me wonder how they're even going to fit all of that into a regular episode. Part of me is afraid they're gonna pull another LSH and cut something.

Maybe too packed, i didn't like 4.10 because of that, it felt rushed.
I honestly hope some things will be pushed back to season 6.

Dorne is being dissed as useless by practically everyone and i hate it cuz the Dorne characters in the books are one of my faves. that last chapter between Arienne and Doran was Life. "Vengeance. Justice. Fire & Blood." *Chills*
i would love to have a good dorne scene in the finalepisode, but considering all else thats gonna happen i dont even want anymore dorne.

also, i am not even expecting the varys scene to happen. with the lack of kevan and pycelle from the show, i just think D&D have made up their mind to exclude the Book Epilogues from the show.. fr some crazy reason.

i think the arcs we'll see in the finale will be of Dany, Meereen, Arya, Cercei, Jon ofcourse.
other than those, Stannis will certianly happen cuz that scene from the previews where Selyse is crawling in the snow has still not happened.
then Sansa/Ramsay/Brienne will happen.

that leaves the Tyrells, Martells, Jamie, and varys. and i shouldnt even expect them to do anything about Rickon i guess..

i just wanna meet the person who arranges the storylines in a season. whose idea is it to keep the first 6 episodes practically dry and stuff everything in the last 3 episodes? same thing happened last season.

Omg the picture I so hope Shireen's death will be the reason of his resurrection. According to a French site Stannis also dies in the next episode, I don't know how reliable it is but both of them being dead hints at Azor Ahai storyline, possibly for the next season. Lord of the light do something and bring back my poor baby Jon Snow
