"Holy Water" better be something close to the Like Prayer sound instead of "I'm a Sinner" or something - lyrics - hopefully true - sound promising as of now, so glad that she embraces the religious themes again

Hmm... I did like the William Orbit remix of I'm a Sinner though.
The Queen of pop has had many eras over her unprecedented 30 year career and one of my fave was the confessions era (also one of her most successful)
With her new era about to begin i thought it was a wonderful opportunity to discuss one of the greatest eras in pop music history. I like to call the confessions era "Euro Disco"
The Album
Confessions On a Dance Floor has sold over 12 million copies worldwide since its release in November 2005. It peaked at number one in 40 countries, earning a place in the 2007 Guinness Book of World Records as the album topping the charts in most countries. It also won a Grammy award as the "Best Dance/Electronic Album" in 2006.
Rescuing 70s disco glamour and an Olivia Newton-John look, the Confessions era started off with Hung Up - which became one of Madonna’s biggest hits. 25 years in the industry and Madonna had her biggest single to date (almost unheard of, QUEEN)
Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor is a celebration of four decades of dance music as a well established genre of music. It pays homage to several dance music artists, from 70s disco music, to 90s French House DJs, to NY club musicians from the mid-00s. From ABBA, to Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer, to the Pet Shop Boys, to Air: Madonna had it all covered in a nearly one-hour long DJ set (there are no gaps in between the songs, just like a DJ set).
One of my favourite parts of the promo for confessions was Madonna's confess phone line.
Madonna had set up a phone line where fans could call and confess their sins, to be later played back to everyone as part of a podcast.
I tried to find a link so you guys to listen to some of the hilarious confessions but they have ended. If anyone has some, post and i'll update the OP.
Live Performances
Madonna truly put a lot of effort in promotion for confessions. Take a look at some of the live shows.
The Promo Tours
MISC + Award shows
Interviews
The Confessions Tour
The confessions tour is still one of the top grossing tours of all time. It is one of my favourite Madonna tours.
This era was so amazing I am sure I am leaving things out. Feel free to post them and I'll update.
The confessions era is evidence that when Madonna puts her mind to promoting a project, There is no stopping the queen.
By the way Dark_Lorde I love your Madonna threads when they're Gaga-bashing-free, some of us stan for both legends! (though believe me I know only one of them is the QUEEN of pop)
I feel like the "Music Inferno" performance somehow really sums up the mood of the Confessions era. It was the first time I ever got interested in Madonna, and it will always be the time I finally discovered the queen. I remember really wanting to love Madonna but struggling to get an "in" into her music, and the Confessions era served it up perfect.

The vast majority of my threads are Madonna related. Very few of my threads even mention gaga and the ones that too, people are too sensitive. All I have ever done is report what I have read...

Anyways. yes. It is a flawless era!
Okay maybe not your threads but your comment trends have been observed. But nonetheless, I'm a fan of your topics and am glad to see the queen getting the attention she deserves over stars that rely 99% on being pretty to sell anything.
Edit: WaiiittT. WTF just happened? I could have sworn this was in its own thread. How did it end up in the base? Did a mod amalgamate it? Why?
I also loved this teaser promo from the Hard Candy era.
I wish more was done along this vein.
Me too. Hopefully we will get more like this!

Yeah, I see what you're saying and sometimes I do go overboard with comments. Next time though, take notice of what is said to me, before I go too far. My comments don't usually start off being like that - People don't like me (i dont care) and they intentionally provoke me for the WP's. Sometimes it works, most times it doesn't.
