I've messaged many people for feedback and given feedback between each of my seasons here, and I can say it's almost always exactly the same. I find it's hardly ever even worth actually taking other people's advice, and rather just marching to your own beat. That is, assuming you are competent. If you have no idea what you're doing, then get all the help you need. But if you're doing this well, you don't really need to be told "oh, change this word, I don't like it".
And I'm not saying people are just generally nice for their own profit, but probably out of fear. I'm not going to go into somebody's pms and drag them to pieces, that's the judge's jobs.
The only two people who have actually ever really helped me are Truth Teller and GotSkill. One happens to be a judge and the other isn't here this season. I can't think of anybody else I would message with my song unless I just wanted to be told how good it was. I wouldn't overestimate the usefulness of a little feedback. It's worth nothing more than the ego boost.
