Yea I would've reordered the tracks so the Max Martin tracks start, to get them out of the way. You have an uptempo track like Trouble and then diverging acoustic track which follows. followed by another dance song and then another acoustic song. You have Stay Stay Stay which is upbeat, then the following song is diverging from this. Thats the one big problem with this album so far. The individual tracks are some of her best, but with this it feels more like a compilation rather than an album. Max martin tracks to start, and woudlve ended with songs like that duet with the snow patrol dude.
Im on track track 10 so so maybe it ends sick....
First half is a hit-and-miss. I deleted Max Martin tracks and the album sounds ten times better tbh.
Taylor explained in the Billboard article that she intentionally did this so you don't have 2 happy songs in a row, or 2 of the same kinds of sadness in a row. It's a good idea, but it could've been a little better executed.
this makes sense, it keeps me surprised. Its an album with 16 tracks so I guess its done to keep me on my toes. Its a sprawling album

I agree that it keeps listeners alert, and I agree with disco that the "first half is a hit-and-miss." However, once you get past Stay Stay Stay, you get like 7 perfect tracks in a row.
