people are super sensitive when it's about their faves but they become like vicious animals (myself included) when it comes to others' faves
I'm all for : If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. ie.: let SYG function as an unmoderated (except for personal attacks) thread where you can post ANYTHING without getting warned
if a person is that sick as to use AIDS and Abortion jokes then it's on them, they have to live with themselves
just feel bad for them and move on. simple as that (or come up with an even more horrible and disgusting shade
)
ETA: I still remember the good old days when basically every thread was a SYG
you could use nicknames and drag anyone without being afraid of getting banned
Mods only intervened when you derailed threads and got personal
those were the good old days
I mean it feels like they want to turn ATRL into ukmix 
I support much stricter moderation and limits to what is offensive, as well as strict thread bans for those who trespass the new limitations, if that is what you think is necessary. Just please don't close it, it's great to have a space where you can speak your mind freely.
