As 2005 begin, Ashanti lead the charge early and dominated as she set out to break her record of 60@1. Tweet and Amerie who were 2002 mainstays, tried to stop Ashanti but no way to think she wouldn't dominate. Motley Crue started strong early, but folded at the end. Those who stayed strong were Usher, Jennifer Lopez, T.I., Angel, Jump 5 and Green Day. Others who made their impact felt were Mavin featuring A.J. Trauth and Aly & A.J. Aside from that, Ashanti knew this month would be hers to dominate and she didn't fail to disappoint as she won everyone over.

FEBRUARY

February began with a lot of shifting around. As the month began, Ashanti just spent a record-setting 64th day at #1 for Only U. However, momentum changed dramatically when newcomer Natalie shocked everyone by opening the month on top, and steamrolling away. There were some strong contenders which you will see right now.

While Natalie lead the way, battling for position on the countdown was no easy task. For IDRL favorite Ashanti, she struggled a bit to stop Natalie. Green Day, Jump 5 & Amerie stayed strong throughout. A few memorable songs retired and made their move. 2004 hit True by Ryan Cabrera stunned the chart by returning strong early in the month.
