I just watched the rest of Rih's VMA performances. She actually did REALLY good. Like she gave more effort than I'd seen in years. She was going pretty hard with some of the choreo. I probably would have noticed this the night of if Beyonce hadn't performed.

Hmm. After further review, I'm inclined to admit that Rihanna is on the same level as Katy performance wise. But it might be too late now given her reputation. And honestly, she probably won't keep up with it. So eh. All the praise is wasted.
