I see Don Lemon made more controversial remarks about the black community again.
My whole thought on the matter is that while I agree with SOME of what said, he kinda missed the mark with some of his commentary.
First off, while there ARE some easily impressionable people in the black community who let celebrities influence their decision process, Some of us (at least many of us who listen to stars like Beyonce or Rihanna, can't say the same for some of the rap star fans but I digress) don't really take it that seriously and take it for what it is:Music and Entertainment.
I think he starts missing the mark around here:

As far as I'm concerned, and I'm only speaking from my experience as a 20 year old negro american male here, I do see people often talking about "Praising God", "Blessing the LORD" and what have you. Some even repost Bible verses FFS.The church still somewhat has an influence on the black community; It is up to a child's PARENTS to take them to church and Sunday school.
That being said, while I DO commend the Black church for helping take some black people out of the poverty stricken, crime ridden cesspool known as 'The Ghetto" and deterring them from a life of violence, drugs, and crime, I also am NOT religious and do not try to portray myself as a 'Church on Sunday Old School' type negro. At this point in my life it just does not fit me.The Church on its own has a few problems to be addressed from segregation ('Black Church' vs 'White Church') to corrupt pastors/congregations, and even their thoughts on some of the issues that I just plain don't agree with. There's some Black people with good heads on their shoulders and not all of them have to be Christian.
