The Voice's Charlotte Sometimes Battled Anorexia and Found Support From Mentor Kelly Clarkson
Though The Voice Season 2 contestant Charlotte Sometimes seems to be a competition front-runner, she’s had her share of struggles in her personal life.
In a recent NBC conference call, Charlotte admitted that she’s struggled with anorexia for years.
“I was anorexic all growing up,” Charlotte said. “When my first record came out, everyone was trashing me and calling me fat.”
What?! We think the Team Blake singer has a rocking bod!
Charlotte found comfort and advice from her mentor, Kelly Clarkson, who understands the pressures of being a woman in the music industry.
“She made me feel comfortable to be in my skin,” she said.
According to Charlotte, NBC cut the portion of her training session with Kelly in which the two cried together talking about their similar struggles with body image.
Kelly's weight has been under constant scrutiny ever since she won the first season of American Idol, but she is not one to conform to society’s image of the perfect woman.
