Results were coming tonight, but Citrus is at a concert and it's been delayed because of rain. Results will come tomorrow; most likely at night.

I'm in class all afternoon/early evening, so hopefully by the time I get home, everything will be ready to go
We're so close to the finale! I'd be upset with almost any of the remaining queens going home Congrats to everyone on making it this far.

Color Me Love - Judges' Critiques
Subomie said...

Koko Khalyan - Look: Okay, since we can't use workroom pics, I'm glad you got Coco's favourite color in somehow. You probably had the short end of the stick with this colour since there's so few looks to pick from and you got the right look out of it. Girl, look how orange you ****in look girl.
Entry: Your take on pride was maybe a bit brief but it was true and it did tie in to your story, which I thought was quite nice, and you also linked it into your colour theme so well done. Solid entry.
Chanel DiAngelo - Look: It's obviously a favourite of mine but yellow is for sunshine and does this look represent? I guess so if you think of it as her coming out of the rain looking bright yellow. I'll go with it. Ballsy move. I'm glad you didn't try to be cute and submit something gold. Great look overall and I think the choice works.
Entry: You got straight into the answer with no stalling which is good. I think it's a lovely entry and it linking with both your colour theme and your look is very impressive. The growth in what you used to think of pride to your thoughts now is especially poignant.
Carmen Scarlett - Look: Not a big fan of this look personally, and I think there were better red choices, but you did link it to the colour meaning and I liked the coming out of the dark thing. It's cute! You made it work I think.
Entry: That was a touching read. I think your whole point ties into the coming out of the darkness idea yet again. You have a very simple but very cute take on pride and I like it.
Udders Tutu - Look: This look is certainly related to pride. It looks tacky and cheap enough to be seen on a float in some run-down parade. The blue isn't prevalent enough, the fact that it can legitimately be mistaken as white is enough said. It's sad since you were smart giving yourself the easiest colour but I'm not sold.
Entry: I feel that it was just a bit generic. I can tell you tried to work with this challenge, but it just seems like something I'd read off a pamphlet rather than your own words.
Scarlett LaPierre - Look: It's... green I guess. I personally don't like it, the shade of green isn't cute and it's just an average look. And a peeve: I'm disappointed you themed your titles and entry around nature, with the trees and plants, but didn't extend that to the look. I think something like Ivy's Butterfly could've worked in tandem with the entry.
Entry: A unique take on pride that I quite like. I really just agree with this completely, community is really important and I tried to foster that kind of atmosphere a lot earlier in here.
Carrie Messiah - Look: I can't fault the choice, it's Violet wearing violet, but I don't like this look. It's fine, I can't dock points for that. Bleh. Whatever. Moving on.
Entry: It was another moving story, and I like your take on pride. It was short, sweet and really stood out to me. I feel that you could've expanded a little bit though.

Koko Khalyan – When you were assigned orange, I was hoping you would choose this. The look is completely fantastic, and it should’ve made the Top 150 looks rate. Poor Drag Race fans, their bias. Your explanation hinted at a healing story but, as a reader, I felt left out. There wasn’t enough detail for us to go along with you on your journey, and I think that lost some of the impact.
Chanel DiAngelo – Yellow is a difficult color to work with for this challenge, and I think you chose your best option. I thought about some of the gold looks, but knowing this panel someone would’ve dragged you for it not being yellow enough. Smh. Your description of pride is personal without sharing your story, which is interesting to me. I felt invested even though I didn’t know any particulars. Good job.
Carmen Scarlett – This look wasn’t one I expected. To be honest, I think red is a difficult color for this. Manila’s makeover outfit and Tyra’s rich bitch couture were the only ones that came to mind immediately, though I think your choice was good. I think I personally would’ve enjoyed Violet’s half-drag more, but this was a safer choice for the judges as a whole (which is probably better for your score). Now to your explanation of pride…Well, I am so sorry for everything that you have had to go through so far in your life. It’s heart-wrenching what we, as gay people, sometimes have to weather just to be able to proclaim, unashamed, that we love ourselves. There is no shame in recognizing some places as safe and some as dangerous; your own self-preservation should be your #1 priority. But the further and further we go, the safe places begin to outnumber the dangerous ones. As long and harrowing as your journey thus far has been, I am so glad that you’ve still managed to find that self-acceptance and happiness that bubbles up from inside. I am immensely proud of you, Carmen.
Udders Tutu – Unlike the other judges, I thought this outfit was fine for blue. I understand their reservations, though. I think it’s more of a powder blue, though I think Latrice’s blue gown or Willam’s blue boat couture would’ve been better received on the whole. Your description of pride was serviceable, though I wish you could’ve connected it to yourself in some way. That being said, I appreciated it more than many others did because it shows you embracing your role as an ally. That might’ve been a better angle to approach the written portion from.
Scarlett LaPierre – I love this Chad look unequivocally, but I think that Sharon’s crowning dress with the Ouija board planchette would’ve been a bolder and better move. That being said, this is still an immaculate look. Your write-up had personal touches, but you sort of glossed over pride’s applicability to yourself. The intro read sort of like something I would write for the description of this challenge, which bothers me because all of my challenge descriptions are impersonal. We’ve talked about risk before, but it’s now or never, my dear.
Carrie Messiah – This look was an obvious no-brainer (and pretty much your only choice), and it was and still is flawless. Ignore Drip. Your entries have always been marked with humor, and it’s clear this week that humor also functions as a defense mechanism for you. I can relate to this a lot, but the average person may not be able to. The linked pictures did make me laugh, but they took away some of the impact of your words. I think, had you not included them, we would’ve seen an unguarded side of you. And I would’ve loved that.

KOKO
Part One: Out of the few orange looks to grace the RPDR runway, you certainly picked the most show-stopping and prideful one. This exudes drag and pride perfectly. Bonus points for picking a queen who not only wears orange, but paints herself orange, too.
Part Two: I feel this was a very surface level response. You opened up to us about your hurt in the past, but I felt you spent more time on that than really delving into what pride is for you.
CHANEL
Part One: It's no secret you were given the most difficult color and while this look is fierce, I felt there was one better choice in the RPDR yellow catalog to exemplify pride.
Part Two: Your story and how you related it back to your color was touching, however there was absolutely no mention of your sexuality or gay culture at all and with this being a pride challenge, I felt that definitely should've been discussed.
CARMEN
Part One: With red, you had a lot more options than most queens. And I say this, not just as a Violet stan, but you really choice possibly the best look for the terms of this challenge. It is one of the most boastful and attention grabbing numbers and reeks of pride. Your relation to your dark past and emerging into red was fantastic.
Part Two: You really opened up here and it paid off. You perfectly described how you found the pride in yourself.
UDDERS
Part One: This look is one of the most intense and fierce looks to hit the runway of RPDR. However, this look does not read blue. Yes, there are blue tones and tints but this is the PRIDE challenge, I should be hit in the face with head to toe blue, especially since you easily had one of, if not the most, accessible color to work with.
Part Two: We wanted to know what pride is to you, not statistics and definitions from other sources. While factual, I felt you didn't open up at all on this challenge. It came off as very generic. There was no Udders in this entry.
SCARLETT
Part One: Not the easiest color to choose from, you did a good job, however, there were options that had more green in them, which I would've liked to see.
Part Two: This was touching and well-executed. I enjoyed the central theme but I would've liked a little more on what pride is to you, your connection with the gay community and what you are proud of.
CARRIE
Part One: You had quite a bit of purple to choose from and I can't think of an option that is better suited to represent pride. This is a fabulous look from head to toe.
Part Two: This was touching, though I do think the extra mile you went with the pictures, while they injected humor into your entry, took away from the seriousness of the topic a bit.

On the look. It’s kind of plain for an orange look. I mean it looks beautiful and it works for her skin tone really well, but eh personally I feel like you could have gone with something more bold.
On the testimony. Woo lemme imagine you acting masculine. I really connected with that first part about Valentines day. I liked the personal growth you wrote about and connected it to being proud of how you’ve grown and were able to heal yourself from the scars.
Chanel
On the look: April’s look were always the good mix of high fashion and a bit of nudge nudge camp. I liked this one, and it went perfectly with your testimony which is what I loved.
On the testimony: You remind me a lot of myself when I was your age. Even though I’m not that much older but I understood that place you were coming from, learning to be proud of yourself is one of the hardest personal things you can do, and it is a tough road. So I’m glad you were able to talk about that and show some vulnerability.
Carmen
On the look: I was never the BIGGEST fan of this look because it just seemed so plain and was more sizzle then substance, but you paired it so well with your entire meal that I ate it up. Delicious!
On the testimony: Oh child. Let me hug you. This must have been hard to share and I’m glad you did. Being so young and so gay is soooo rough. I’m so sorry you had to go through that, but it made you who you are today. This vulnerability is what I want to see of more in your entries.
Udders
On the look: I lovvve this look and gasped when it was shown, but she has like three blue pieces and they’re soooo light they boarder white. Then her wings which is a good chunk of her outfit are sooo white. Just eh
On the testimony: I was kind of hoping you would get more personal with this at least. You kind of…went with something so…planned. And that’s been my problem with your entries as of late. Everything you do has been so calculated. It would have been nice to put yourself more into this like the others have.
Scarlett
On the look: Eh uh ehhhhh umm. It’s so and so. It’s not my favorite, but it does have an elegance and class that you serve, so it works for you.
On the write up: This was really sweet and a nice touch into your personal life. It felt a bit uninspired at some parts compared to the others and at some points felt a little rehearsed.
Carrie Messiah
On the look: Ugh I hated this ugly look. It looked cheap and tacky. Get it AWAY.
On the write up: This was perfect. You had me brought in with your writing and backstory, and ending it on a powerful note. You didn’t go to far overly explaining it, but you explained it in a way that it stuck. It was personal, powerful, and really stuck.

Episode 10
Color Me Love - Bottom Two
This week, you girls dressed up for the rainbow and told us what pride means to you. All of you let your freak flag fly, but one of you really soared above your color...
...
Carmen Scarlett
Condragulations, you are the winner of this week's challenge. I'm not joking this time, because I'm just so happy that you didn't go into the bottom immediately after being given a second chance. But don't let this go to your head. This just means you're catching up to the other girls, and you can't let your foot off the gas now. Chanel DiAngelo and Carrie Messiah, you are both safe. You may all move to the back of the stage.
Scarlett LaPierre, you've been nothing short of flawless this cycle. But honey, nobody can relate to perfection. Koko Khalyan, you came close to winning the last challenge, but this week you've death-dropped to the bottom. Udders Tutu, your milk must've been made into Essie Jae Sherbet because here you are only a week after being the top contestant. This cow has been tipped, hunty, and I am sorry, but you are up for elimination.
Koko Khalyan, you are safe. You may return to the other girls.
Udders Tutu and Scarlett LaPierre, you have a lot over 24 hours from this post (Thursday, October 1st @ 8:00 PM EST) to send me your reasoning for why you deserve to move on in this competition. If you do not submit, you will be eliminated.

Thank you so much to all the judges - this has truly picked me up after a tough week.
New SOPHIE single and now this? What an amazing day!
The bottom two It just goes to show how any two queens could be listed there and it would be deeply upsetting!
Thank you so much. <3
