Yup. Even taking it back as far as her debut. "Country music" fans were lashing out at her, they all thought she was a flash in the pan, wasn't country enough, and couldn't sing. But, what happened?? She came back with her sophomore release which would go on to win her her first of two AOTY awards at the Grammys. People were mad about her win "and the cynics were outraged, screaming 'this is absurd'. She wins best female vocalists and EOTY at the CMAs, people were mad, they didn't think she deserved it 'she's too young' is what a country music legend was saying. She suffered backlash, and she came back to sell a million copies of her third album in one week. She went through the media saying 'she needs to grow up and stop singing about fairy tales', comes back with her record breaking fourth release, and we all know about the backlash from that era. This has been happening since her debut and will probably continue to happen just as long as she stays on top.
