this song has this typical/traditional chart run similar from a lot of hit songs. It starts from the bottom and make its way up. I see it spending over a month at #1.

It has a 106 radio AI now and gaining an average of 25 AI a week. So it should have 200 AI in a month or so. And it hasn't crossover in AC and Triple A yet. And there was speculation about a country version of the song?

When people think of 2014 in music, it looks like Happy, Dark Horse, All of Me, All About That Bass and Fancy are going to become the first ones they think of. Kind of like how in 2012, the three defining hits of that year by far were Somebody that I Used to Know, Call Me Maybe & We Are Young (the best 1-2-3 punch of #1 hit singles with huge impact this decade so far, in my opinion).

Fancy will be remembered because the #1 summer hits are almost always one of the most memorable songs of a given year by default.

I disagree. The first 3 I'd think of are Happy, DH, and Fancy in that order. Rude and Counting Stars are runners-up.

Its impressive but far from unusual if the public connect with the actual song. In fact many recent smashes were huge with unknown artists; Call me maybe, STIUTK, Royals, Gangnam style etc

But often theyre just one hit wonders.
