Ellie Goulding on America's Got Talent
Ellie Goulding appeared on the finale of America's Got Talent to sing her
new single Asleep. We got to ask her a few questions before the performance.
Q: You've been promoting your new single Asleep for a week now, do you think
it will go #1 this week?
A: I'd love it if that happened but there's too much competition right now.
Britney/Rihanna, Kylie and a lot of other artists have been promoting a lot
this week.
Q: Will this performance be any different from all the other Asleep performance.
A: Yeah! The stage will look a bit like parts of the music video. It's gonna
be really cool.
Q: Will you change costumes during the performance?
A: Yes, just like in the music video. It'll only be two quick costume changes.
Interviewer: Good luck out there!
The audience and judges were quiet, everyone was waiting for Ellie. The stage was dark
but you could see a car, bed and mirror on the stage. The left part of the stage
was completely dark and no one could see anything there. The blue lights were now
shining at Ellie. She rose from the bed and one of her dancers handed her a microphone
that looked like a toothbrush. She started singing at the mirror, pretending to brush
her teeth. She she got to the chorus she got into the car with two of the dancers.
You could hear the engine but the car wasn't going anywhere. The background was moving
on a big screen at the back of the stage. It showed the car going all over the city.
When they got out of the car, it was already the middle of the second chorus. The
left side of the stage was lit up by green lights. The three of them got onto a small
ferris wheel that actually started moving. At the end, they all got off, high fived
each other and bowed. The audience and judges clapped!
