EXACTLY!!! The self titled sold almost 60k which was seen as a mediocre debut back then but when put in perspective, it's solid. Jackie would have sold at least 40k if the label had released a second single, more crossover worthy than I Bet and more representative of the album's sound, before the album.
It's never too late though. DLWML can be another urban hit for us and then Give Me God can be her first true global hit since LSM
I really hope she doesn't release GML.
DLWML & K&T have the most potential, imo. THIF did, but it might be too late.
Ciara’s most invective track, 2006’s incredible “Like a Boy,” asked calm questions about a cheater’s exploits and what kind of double standard he expects going forward, while a chopped-and-screwed taunt implied that the scrub wasn’t taking it well. You might say that she could see the Future.
Let's stop right here and appreciate this immaculate Future shade.

The trickily enjambed, vibrantly harmonized “I Bet” indeed hinges on a similar premise and does away with it: “I bet you’ll start loving me / Soon as I start loving someone else / Somebody better than you.” It’s “Irreplaceable” made vulnerable, its vengeful wit notched down to an all-too-aware sigh. There’s no “he’ll be here in a minute” because CiCi doesn’t pretend that her problems are suddenly solved, that she didn’t just have a baby with the creep. She could walk the Sahara without getting thirsty.
Stan, SPIN!
I also love their take on "I Bet":

A slice of classic millennial R&B; it’s no surprise that this layer cake of prize syllable enjambments and kintsugi-intricate harmonies isn’t blowing up radio like, say, “Post to Be.” But boring it ain’t. Ciara’s a songwriter first, and now she’s the mother of her ex-manchild’s child. She know the grass isn’t greener on the other side. But she also knows it’s good psychotic fun to hire a fake Future for Henry Rollins in “Pop Goes the Weasel” duty, just to drive Twitter insane.
Ciara finally getting the recognition she deserves for her songwriting talent! And SPIN calling "I Bet" a classic. I live.
Only one problem: Their initial review said that Jackie had three of the best songs of the year -- "I Bet," "Jackie (B.M.F.)," and "One Woman Army." Yet only the first made their list. Get it together, SPIN.

I love how they keep talking about Ciara's face when she dances. And they're literally stanning for it. That's how I feel. Ciara truly has that IT factor when she's dancing. She just gives something you can't explain.
