Especially now that the single is really taking off. "Dark Horse" had maximum visibility from the get-go, and stations were dying to play a different single at the time. Hm. Interesting perspective. Any ideas as to why its sales are so low so far even as its airplay is increasing? Do you think once "Dark Horse" dies down some more "Birthday" will start picking up sales better?

Dark Horse is showing Astonishing Longevity and the transition to Birthday is not going to be so easy.

Someone else can address that. I didn't see the final cut. I shouldn't have said anything as it was taken out of context (I said it wasn't something parents would want their kids to see, that it was nothing like LFN, and that if you thought Katy Perry was sexy, you would think it was sexy...that being said, one scene at the beginning and some of the reveals were cut). The only other video I saw ahead of time this year was Mariah's "You're Mine," but hardly anything changed aside from lighting. Sorry for the confusion. I won't speak on future projects anymore. As the whole Mariah-fiasco shows, nothing is ever set in stone.

Is that Unconditionally shade? If you have any connection to Katy's team/record label, let them know a Cash Cash radio edit remix is probably the best shot the song has to do well or at least to test out front iTunes page promo for Birthday under New Releases .

I really don't want the Cash Cash remix to be sent to radios, because it just strips the song of its integrity and uniqueness. But I know it'll probably be more successful in the long run, a la Summertime Sadness.
