That was 2009... Jay recently did an interview saying he doesn't give Rihanna advice. There not as close as we think tbh. They're friends obviously but first business partners. Kinda like Mel O but different scenario.

The weed, the IG, the vile online personality. These are the things that have ruined Rih's public persona over the past 2 years. Ofc you can guess who was behind it egging her on instead of being a good friend and telling her this is a bad idea.

Its not even about being famous, this would be bad even if she was a nobody.

Mel is not a babysitter. There's only so much she can do if Rih doesn't want to change or address her problems. Regardless it's kind of a moot point because in 2014 Rih has improved so much in all of these areas. Mel is also her own person with issues and problems. She's not perfect and it seems like they encourage each other's bad habits. Things seem to be changing for the better so I'm not going to sit here worrying over it.

They have a close bond but I doubt it's that close. Jay will cut you off and destroy you if needed.
