I just really want to visit Texas though, it's my dream. I don't think i'd live there. But I wanna go and see cowboys.

Yeah Orlando is kind of big and if you venture to some parts near Downtown it can get a little ratchet. The ratchet areas are near Downtown and kind of near Universal. It's weird.

That map just confuses me, so West is better than East. Avoid the South at all costs. Some parts of the East are cute but only on the coast and the North is irrelevant?

My requirements are;

Not too hot, I breakdown when it gets to 100 here in the UK.
No giant insects.
Gay friendly.
Cheap.
Good city life, but not extremely busy or overcrowded.

Yup. When I graduate next year I'll most likely be looking for place in Jersey and Connecticut. NYC is expensive and I refuse to pay for living in a dump. Long Island is also expensive as hell.
