If you want to be in the NYC area, without being in the city proper, you can get there pretty easily from most of New England. People commute from Jersey, Connecticut, etc all the time.

 Yup. When I graduate next year I'll most likely be looking for place in Jersey and Connecticut. NYC is expensive and I refuse to pay for living in a dump. Long Island is also expensive as hell.
