What's every1's fave country albums of the yearrrr
For me:
Gretchen Peters - Blackbirds
Ashley Monroe - The Blade
Carrie Underwood - Storyteller
Eric Church - Mr. Misunderstood
Luke Bryan - Kill The Lights
Gretchen Peters' album is that one country album that comes along every year and turns me into a suicidal mess. So dark. Such incredible writing. Her vocal cutting through me like a knife as well. I can't.
So far though:
Sam Hunt - Between The Pines (Acoustic Mixtape) - I know it's older, but was just officially released
Dwight Yoakam - Second Hand Heart
Carrie Underwood - Storyteller
Punch Brothers - Phosphorescent Blues
Canaan Smith - Bronco
Luke Bryan - Kill The Lights
Damn this lump in my throat
Damn this hole in my coat
Damn this rain that just won’t quit
Damn the sorry waste of it
Damn the truth, and damn these lies
Damn that look behind your eyes
Damn this day, damn this night
Goddamn this losing fight
Cos there ain’t no boat, there ain’t no train
To take us back the way we came
Ain’t no shelter from this hard rain
The cure for the pain is the pain
Like, what is this woman doing to me. Blackbirds >

1) Storyteller
2) Pageant Material
3) The Blade
Traveller is great too
I'll have to give this Gretchen Peters album a listen as well.
It looks almost certain now "Die A Happy Man" will be the first five-week #1 at Country radio since "Need You Now"! Rhett actually registered a gain in both audience and spins today on AS+R Country, and still has a big lead over the other songs -- nearly 6 million impressions and over 1,000 spins compared to #2! Cam led in spins 4 weeks ago, but DAHM has maintained the audience lead since 18 December! So Rhett will get a 5th week at #1 on BB and a 4th on MB!

Dierks Bentley has some big shoes to fill as he takes over hosting duties for Blake Shelton at this year’s ACM Awards, but he’s already preparing for the show in April.
