Don't get me wrong, I love both artists... But I feel the fact everything that's happened with Gaga this year has hyped up ARTPOP and anything that comes from it even more.

No! Honestly I feel the hype for her last album was 100x what she has right now. Before she had everyone waiting for the album, but now all the "hype" is on the internet by fan-operated blogs like that mtv blogroll ****.
I think Katy might not get the #1 right away, but her song will be grower (based on the past). Again, we havent heard the songs yet so we cant exactly judge.

There is plenty of hype for both right now. If both singles were released on the same day then I'd say it would be fairly unpredictable who'd chart at #1. I'm sure Katy will get to #1 with 'Roar', though as 'Applause' is being released the week after, I'm sure Gaga will be the one to knock her off #1 - the same with 'ARTPOP' and 'Prism'.

The thing is, I like both of them. I'm not favoring either, but, I just don't think it's a good idea for them to release Katy's stuff before Gaga's - she'll only knock her off if she gets to #1.
I've waited 3 years for new music and the only thing to hold me over was Wide Awake which is now a year and a half old
I also excited and can't wait for Roar! I wonder if this eras theme will be like tiger themed, African themed, animal themed, jungle themed, or something of the sorts cause that's what the teaser looks like
If she drops the actual video than 7M will be a breeze! Exspecialy if it is as good as E.T., Last Friday Night, or Wide Awake
But 7M on a lyric video wouldn't be out of the question either because of her huge anticipation
