Edge and Katie:
Layout - Love the layout, the alternating text and video blocks were very visually appealing.
Music - Great song choices. Obviously I love Party, but I'm also really happy you included Gravity and Unwritten.
Text - You two are probably the best writers left in the competition, so I'm sure surprised that it was great when you worked together. Very well written.
CrazyCat and BlazingLovatic:
Layout - The black backgrounds look really cool, I just wish you included the actual videos. It took me a while to know I had to click the link.
Music - Really good choices. I love Jar of Hearts!
Text - The first four all started with "We think that..." and it got a bit monotonous. I think the writing could have been a bit more creative!
ImRihannaFan
BlazingLovatic&CrazyCat had better format, Edge&Katie more originality.
Happiness: With this one, Imma go with E&K. Both of these songs sounds party anthems, but "Something New" is more "female empowerment".
Sadness: Imma go with B&C here instead. I preffered E&K's song, but I love the your description.
Love: Playing the WFL card, I see you. Well done, E&K have my vote here.
Broken Heart: Better description and song for E&K. Another point for ya.
Inspiration: "People Like Us" sounds more inspiration, B&C have my vote here.

Edge + Katie:
Party - 5/10
BTHE - 10/10
WFL - 8/10
Gravity - 8/10
Unwritten - 8/10
I feel like you guys did well at capturing everything that life is about! Happiness, sadness, love, but especially hope and optimism. Great job guys, you're definitely my winners.
Cat + Blazing:
Cinderella - 7/10
Something New - 8/10
People Like Us - 8/10
Jar Of Hearts - 7/10
Trouble - 7/10
I was really surprised with this entry, you used songs I really didn't expect from you like Cinderella and Trouble, they aren't that well known. Sadly I think the other team got a slight edge on you guys but let me just say it was VERY close for me!

I'd like to say that I thought both entries were very well-crafted and none of the songs missed the theme, you made great choices and explained them very adequately. I really had to look into the details to decide whose entry I liked better.

Edge & Katie - For me, you are the winner of this challenge. The first two song choices didn't fully convince me, but with the last three you hit the nail on the head and made up for it.
When I saw the first song, I thought the theme was "Party", and even after listening to it, I didn't necessarily get a happy vibe from it, more like laid back. Kelly's song, yes it's sad but I think it is too close to the "heartbreak" theme. I would have loved to see a different aspect of sadness.
The last three songs, they made perfect sense to me. I love the choice of We Found Love, it is such an uplifting and empowering yet somehow tragic song, that contrast gets me every time and it's perfect to describe love. Gravity has stunning vocals and is really touching, and it's also a nice change of pace. It can be interpreted in different ways and I actually saw it a bit differently than how you explained it, but I can see that working as well. Lastly, Unwritten is the ultimate inspirational anthem, I remember when that song came out and it was just so refreshing and motivating to listen to it, and it still is today.
Generally, I loved reading your comments about the songs, they were very well thought out and how you subtly incorporated the lyrics of every song into the explanation was really smart and effective. The only thing that confused me a little was that you talked about yourselves in third person. That made it seem a bit less personal.
Overall, a great entry though and my favorite this round.

Dom & Blazing - I liked your entry a lot as well, it shows that you really put a lot of effort into it and you can be proud of the final result. The songs go very well together, it's just that they were lacking something for me.
Cinderella is about the dreamy, fairytale aspect of love, which is why I would relate it more to the feeling of falling in love or crushing on someone. It misses the intensity and dramatic side of love, especially when up against We Found Love. With Someone New, you related the happiness to the music which was not the worst idea. It's energetic and just makes you want to groove along. The lyrics seemed to be missing the connection though.
People Like Us is a great fit without doubt, Kelly is know for her inspirational empowerment anthems because she has the voice and attitude for it. However, this is not one of her best songs, it falls a bit flat and I'm just missing that spark that would make people get up and wanna change something about their life like Unwritten does. Jar Of Hearts is beautiful and definitely sad, but like with the other team it's too close to the "Broken Heart" theme for me. I would have loved to see an aspect of sadness that is not connected with love. Trouble is my favorite choice from you, it's an amazing song and it goes with the theme in an interesting way.
I loved your layout, I know you're both into fancy formatting and you did a great job with this. It looked very neat and presentable. The descriptions got your point across and went with the choices very well.
Overall, not a bad entry but it just didn't impress me as much as the other team.

I don't see how 'Party' is related that much to happiness altho I see your point. /Love is not always reason for sadness and practically you made 'broken heart' and 'sadness' themes like one. /WFL is obvious great choice. /'Gravity' is cute song. /I don't get how the song and the essay fits with the 'inspiration' them. It fits more with the YOLO theme tbh.

Your writing is clearly great. It's good that you somehow connected all the songs with your personal life.
The formatting is cute. Nothing special tbh.
CrazyCat&Blazing
I feel that you took risk with the 'love' theme. 'Cinderella' is ok song. /'Something New' is legit bop. But it's not only for the music, the lyrics have to fit the theme and this doesn't. /You did the 'inspiration' theme a lot better than the other pair imo. I adore 'People Like Us' too, sad it didn't smash.

/Same goes for you as for the other pair. 'Jar of Hearts' is cute song too. /Omg, 'Trouble'

Awesome song imo, idk why it's so underrated and hate by Leona's fans tho. It fits the theme too.
Your writing is obviously weaker that the other pair. You could've tried better with some themes.
But, your formatting is clearly better. You tried hard and I like that.
Overall both entries had strong and weak points and they are pretty much on the same level imo.
In the next post you'll find out who made it to the final!
