Though, I am sure they are loving it because it's producing drama and publicity around the show. No doubt, people will tune in to see how both Nicki and Mariah act on the show.

I don't find it hard to believe that Mariah has been slyly disrespecting Nicki throughout the audition process. It pisses me off how two faced people are. Mariah was huge and het legacy is undeniable but that doesn't mean she can treat Nicki like **** and make her seem less than what she is. Nicki is one of the biggest.stars ww atm. Idc about album sales from 50 years ago, Nicki is current and successful as well.

I agree with some of this.
But at the same time, we don't actually know what Mariah said. It could well be that what she said was rude and out of hand, or else it could've been a complete overreaction to valid criticism. I wouldn't be surprised by either, and contrary to popular belief, Nicki's reaction doesn't really tell us much about what triggered it. We'll just have to see when it airs. American Idol wins.
