Hmm... were we watching the same match? Wimbledon Final 2008? Almost 5 hours of quality tennis from both players?
It was an exciting match but the quality wasn't that high. They were playing clay tennis on a (slow) grass court. Federer hit so many errors it was unbelievable. All those backhands wide and in the net. I hope he can find his 2004-2006 form again, although Nadal taking his #1 spot is pretty much inevitable now. He deserves it though, winning Hamburg, Roland Garros, Queen's and Wimbledon = incredible.
Next week we'll have two new #01's for both men's and women's. Jankovic will replace Ivanovic by 6 points because she isn't playing (lame, she should play some challenger and make exactly 6 points to keep her from doing so ;p). = /
Q. James Blake, we were talking obviously about his victory over Roger in the Olympics, and the fact that Roger has not had success this year that he's had in the past and has not been quite as dominant. He was saying that as far as he was concerned, Roger hasn't lost anything. It's just that there are other players that are coming up and playing better than they played in the past. Could you reflect on that? Do you share that thought?
Ok I'll be honest.. I didn't like Federer at first because he was always winning. But now I've learned to embrace the Fed and his dominance, haha.. he's great.
Only got to see the end, but you could tell he dominated.
