Namie stays the bottom barrell of the J-pop divas and with Ayuma coming back I don't see a place for her anymore. FEEL was evidence enough of her overexposure. Sales are declining as is the quality of the latest material at hand. Neon Lipstick and that other song are the epitome of FORGETTABLE.
LMAO, you keep saying sh!t like this yet Namie continues to prove you wrong. No matter what you think of her music Namie is still winning win it comes to the other solo females, YES her sales have declined (everyone's has) but she's still out-selling her competition and she will continue to do so. & Ayumi is NO THREAT at all, not with her recent numbers
Lol, you guys are funny. All j-pop divas declined, stop trying to make one decline "better" than the other. Ayu may flop with sales but she's a touring force, just look at the ranking of this year's tours. Namie is a touring force as well, but she's selling just a little better, her decline is evident and with girlbands and k-pop artists being more appealing to the japanese public these days + the numbers of groups growing (I seriously don't know anymore how many subgroups does AKB have), she's going to fall even more, and with this, you can also tell what's going to happen to Ayu & Koda. We're lucky they're treated like "legends" and they have nothing to prove at this point, because I believe they're going to fade more than the last years until Avex has nothing to take from them.
And I love all of them. Is it really hard to love all of them? Each one deliver greatness in a different way.

PREACH PREACH PREACH YAAAAAAAAsssssssssssss
I saw Dir en grey tonight and almost got arrested after lol
The stan wars between the big four feel really fake now anyway, but I guess it keeps the thread alive. Would be better if it were kept alive with new artist and song recommendations though.
For the record I'm not one to care for sales either (though it may not seem like it from my previous post) but people on this forum who've known me long enough know I stan for a bunch of acts who aren't exactly selling much records at the moment, it's all about the music and perfromances for me but that particular poster Chunk is constantly shading Namie for no reason & while I should take the high road and ignore his/her posts I can't help but retaliate at times.
tbh, I love all the J-Divas, the main four are among my favorite artists of all time, they all have wonderful discographies.
I wasn't pointing fingers to anyone, I do care a little about sales anyway and it pains me to see how Ayu is doing these days, not only her but all of the female singers that I love. But in the end we just need new music, and they're releasing a bunch of great songs. I just wish the stans would recognize all of them as great artists and respect they work whether they like them or not. Let's just keep the thread alive talking about new releases, artists & recommendations like Kworb said, we're not on SYG

I used to follow them until the beginning of 2012, I thought they still were big things but I don't follow their releases there anymore. Sorry
ayu will always be a legend regardless. but its going to make me really sad to see her #1 streak be ruined i hope she chooses not to release another physical single, at least not until she makes a proper comeback
I've been listening to Koda Kumi discography and it's good I guess. BEST ~second session~, affection, Kingdom, TRICK, & UNIVERSE are my favorite albums.

Yeah, K-Pop sales in Japan are practically the pits now. SNSD are underperforming there now, though it would help a bit if their label actually bothered to do some promoting!
1999-2002 Utada will always be superior to 2002-present Utada.
sis not with Take 5 being from 2008

Oh, I understand. That's probably why I'm not seeing them releasing a lot of stuff there anymore.
I didn't follow alan that much but I remember Kaze ni Mukau Hana slaying me so hard when she released it.
