if y'all have dry hair use something sulfate free. pretty much all shampoo is gonna have sulfates unless it says otherwise, that DEFINITELY includes all big brands like pantene/loreal/herbal essences and stuff. loreal has a sulfate free option though.
personally for my hair i use redken color extend magnetics, but my hair is color treated. it's like the best you can get for color treated hair and magnetics is the sulfate free variant. even if you don't have colored hair, redken in general is a good brand.
you should look them up yourself and decide if you think they're harmful or not but the main tea is that sulfates strip away your hairs moisture.

Mine is, blending is one of the hardest things to do I can't explain it.. I know you just gotta dab with a blender like crazy but sometimes it feels like nothing's going right

Not in the long run. Silicones are common ingredients in the cheaper drugstore conditioners and they do make the hair appear softer & shinier, but that is just an illusion. It's actually not good for your hair in the long run to be coated with silicones because it is almost like plastic. In the long run it will build up on your hair and cause dull & lifeless hair, especially if you already have fine hair. That's why they have clarifying shampoos which are used periodically to remove silicone buildup.
Higher quality conditioners rarely use silicones and they generally opt for more natural oils that are actually beneficial to your hair & are able to penetrate the hair shaft to provide moisture instead of just coating it. For example here are the ingredients that are in the Shea Moisture Conditioner I recommended:
Quote:
Water (Aqua), Cetyl Alcohol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Glycerin (Vegetable), Stearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Panthenol, Trichilia Emetica (Mafura) Seed Oil, Honey, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend), Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) Seed Oil, Cetrimonium Chloride, Persea Gratissma (Avocado) Oil, Ficus (Fig) Extract, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Tocopherol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol Butter, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Capryhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol.
|
compare that to the ingredients of a typical Pantene Conditioner
Quote:
Water, Stearyl Alcohol, Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol, Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium Edta, Panthenol, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.
|
and you can see a clear difference in quality. The main ingredient is silicone and the only thing that is actually beneficial to your hair is Panthenol, everything else is fillers & preservatives.

I don't finish putting on makeup after setting spray (which is literally supposed to be the final step).

|
You heard right, aside from Nikkie, i know people from makeup forums that used glycerin as a primer. (like not even the shave balm, pure glycerin)
Now I'm in inspired, i wanna put glycerin in my rosewater

|
Primers before make up and like Wotamin said, Urban decay All Night Spray although i've heard of an even better setting spray but i don't have access to it here. Model In a Bottle and Skindanavia's setting sprays get a lot of hype for their long lasting effects. Model In A Bottle is good for oily skin since it has alcohol as an active ingredient, so it'll mattify your skin a bit i feel.

To all the people talking about dry damaged hair, you need to invest in a serum for it.
For example i use Kitoko Advanced Hair Therapy (Oil Treatment).
And if you're someone who straightens or blow dries their hair a lot (like me lol), use a heat protection spray.

Mess at all the people here having dry hair while mine gets easily oily, and big brands shampoos make it greasy as ****

I'm seeing so many videos on instagram of girls who make their lips bigger by sucking stuff and then applying makeup, but tbh it looks so ugly and swollen

What a wonderful combo, your skin must be very well hydrated and moisturised.
I wonder why your makeup is difficult to blend, hmm. Must be the products you're using, or your blender needs to be swapped!

Primer is so underrated i swear.
1. It helps your makeup look better
2. It helps your makeup last longer
3. It protects your pores from makeup
4. It helps prevent your face from ageing form the makeup.
5. Specific primers can help mattify skin, minimise pores or prevent oiliness.
Smashbox, Makeup Forever HD and Benefit have the best primers, depending on what you like (prevent oiliness, minimise pores etc).
