The thing is the OP didn't put that in the first post. The OP made sure to emphasize the paragraph about LGBT hiding in the closet, which is really the only questionable paragraph in the article. I agree with everything else she had to say, and the paragraph you quoted should have been in the OP. The **** storm that happened would have been much reduced.

1. There's still no way to declare that. There have been cases where a white person murdering another white person led to no jail time. With that, maybe if Zimmerman had shot an openly gay male, he wouldn't have received jail time.
2. When there is still prejudice and discrimination surrounding gays, I don't believe his chances would be more likely if he were openly out.

Do Asian gay males (not sure why they have to even be gay either) not use those terms too? I'm pretty sure they do. So basically she has an issue with only white people using black terminology? Which to me says more about her, than it does the white people using said terminology (given the context isn't offensive of course). I don't understand why she's offended? My straight girlfriends use drag terminology since they started watch RPDR and I'm not offended by them using it. I'm ecstatic I can share my culture with them?

She's trying to police what people say and that's wrong. She is a true social justice warrior and she's spread to TIME... I'm worried about the future of culture if this ish is really given so much attention. Before you know it, people will be willingly segregated. The difference is that the black women with whom you think you align so well, whose language you use and stereotypical mannerisms you adopt, cannot hide their blackness and womanhood to protect themselves the way that you can hide your homosexuality

cool it, it's not like they can attest to the amount of research employers can do on potential employees. Because if my current job did it, I would not only get fired... That is 100% true. I will not argue that. But there are other ways employers can tell... whether you're naturally feminine and give off a bad impression at the interview because of it... or they do some online research and see how much fun you were having at a local pride event on instagram.

It's about getting the job from the first impression, as a white male you have no negative connotations to hinder your chances. As a black person we have to deal with racist stereotypes that do hinder our success, not every time but it happens and you don't have to deal with it.
