I hated Princess Diaries 2, maybe that is why lol. Idk I just like MKIA, Breakaway is more deep emotional where MKIA is the perfect midtempo pop dream

After reading tons of responses on twitter, blogs, etc. I think the biggest thing I got was it's different for Kelly. I LOVE THAT!!
It reminds me of Breakaway (the song). I remember when that song got leaked (as always) a lot of her core fans were quick to say they didn't like it because it was too slow, didn't show off her voice... in fact some of them where so certain that it wasn't even Kelly singing, lol. And lets just remember it spent a record 20 consecutive weeks at number one on AC and it shares the record for the longest run at number one for a female artist w/ 21 weeks.
I'm not implying that MKIA will have have the same success, but rather don't be so quick to rule something out. RCA maybe on to something marketing her in the AC/HAC charts, since she does really well there. For those who don't keep up with Kelly's stats: "Don't You Wanna Stay" has done so well -- Top 10 HAC, Top 5 AC, currently 3rd longest-running single in BB Hot 100 of the year. And "Already Gone" peaked at Number 3 on the Hot Adult Contemporary and spent a total of 51 weeks in the chart; and 8 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot Adult. Smart to keep marketing her there, since she does very well on those charts.
I look forward to the Stronger era... I have a feeling this will be some of Kelly's best material and best vocal performances ever.  Can't wait to hear this song live!! Kelly's the only artist that I usually prefer the live version to the studio.

I am surprised Kelly has yet to mention anything about it leaking. Your 1sts single leaks days before you were having a countdown to debut it with fans reserving. Maybe she doesn't want to announce it for the fans that don't know it leaked?

Exactly  Only the hardcore fans and the casual readers of music blogs are aware. Sometimes I think people forget not everyone is obsessed with the internet, lol. Plus, I've been to several KC shows and I can tell you she has a lot of fans that are older than 40. Those people aren't going to be reading blogs or waiting for the leaks, lol.
And since this will be debuting soon she's probably busy working, meetings, schedules, etc. Best to play dumb and not say anything. She clearly knows, but ain't gonna say anything. She probably will during the chat though, lol. She'll probably make a joke about the people who already heard it.

Her vocals are really amazing on this song. She's teaching the others singers how to sing with the heart. It it a beautiful song.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Breakaway wasnt't even supposed to be on the second album. It was just released for the Princess Diaries and to build some buzz for Kelly's true return before that era. It blew up and the album ended up being titled after it and blah blah blah.
But yea, it really never fit the overall sound of the Breakaway album itself imo.

Oh no, I agree with a lot of what you said, but I just love the song and I always have.But she doesn't seem to have a problem with it, but I get her problem with AMLT.

Correct. Breakaway was supposed to be on the Princess Diaries only. However, it became part of Breakaway (the album) due to it's massive success. Like I posted on top it's tied with Celine Dion (forgot what song) for the longest stay at #1 by a female at 21 weeks on the AC chart.

Well AMLT is a cheesy wreck. I'm so happy she feels that way about it. I do think she has to be bored with singing some of the Breakaway songs again and again for so long. But that album is iconic, people are gonna be mad if she doesn't sing SUBG, BTHE, BA etc. But I hate that she has to cut gems like Sober and Maybe because of it. Meh, hopefully Stronger changes all that.

It officially grew on me 
I'm starting to realize how beautiful this song is, and how great it will sound on radio. It is a pretty good first single choice, it just needs time to get used to.

Agreed I mean how many times has she performed SUBG on Ellen
I would kill for some more My December tracks on tour. Hell do some more concerts with them as well. I was so pumped to see How I Feel being sung earlier this month. Although we never got good audio of it
