I think the entire video may be in REVERSE, and that Alejandro is not a specific person, but rather the personification of supression, mental corruption, discrimination, and organized religion.
Notice how every time the chorus starts she is dancing with the men. It seems as though "don't call my name" may be a chant directed at the specific entities that live to deem others actions and emotions as unnatural. The chorus in a sense can be a declaration of freedom by refusing to be controlled anymore.
And if you analyze the video in reverse (not literally, but scene for scene), it makes a lot more sense IMO. It starts with
1) a fight scene
2) Gaga wearing a Catholic robe.... Notice that she remains idle in her movements allowing them to embrace her until the end when she feels emboldened enough to remove the robe herself and participate in the frolicking.
3) The bed scene, complete with all-out untsamed sexual escapades
4) 2nd verse, when she says "please, just let me go. alejandro, just let me go" she is PRAYING and at the same time REMOVING the rosary from within her, again symbolizing her new found freedom (it appears the rosary is being eaten but it's in reverse, look closely)
5) She then watches in admiriation from her bedroom window the new found freedom of her gay friends dancing together, emracing each other, celebrating.
6) And the funeral scene at the END of the video, in where she states "i just can't be with you like this anymore, Alejandro" Remember, Alejandro is the representation of supression and discrimination. Therefore she's ending a relationship with those negative mindsets and whatever may have birthed them.
7) Gay men marching in unisense into the dark
8) THE END
That's my interpretation at least

It may be completely wrong but i get the sense that the video has been interpreted by a broader meaning of the
"alejandro" song. The song serves as the narrative to the video in the sense that she no longer wants to be bothered by
"alejandro",
who is not a person, but rather a specific mindset and the entities that spawned them (discrimination, prejudice, organized religion).
Therefore the video's serves as a celebration one of the most stigmitized communities on earth, while allowing people to ponder their own beliefs, many of which would deem this otherwise happy group of people as societal terrorists who's ulimate destiny is to burn in a lake of fire
