That'd definitely be its closest competitor. Star Wars have the nostalgia factor though which is very appealing to audiences.

it still might have a chance. i mean lots of people i know (including myself) are pretty much over the avengers and marvel stuff in general. star wars has a big nostalgia factor + a huge fan base

They will. The first movie will do incredibly well, might even do better than Age of Ultron, but even if it doesn't, the second movie definitely will and third movie will probably outgross.... everything ever.

As Rey continues we see the smashed carcass of an X-Wing in the foreground but further back is revealed the crashed hulk of an Imperial Star Destroyer. These are the remnants of the Battle of Jakku, one of the final skirmishes between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. It takes place between Episodes VI and VII, shortly after the Battle of Endor.
